A car struck a pedestrian in Hartford late Friday night and the person hit has died.
Police responded to the area of North Chapel and Ann Uccello streets on Friday at 10:46 p.m. after receiving reports that a vehicle hit a pedestrian. Police identified the pedestrian as Juan Ramos Jr., 56, of Hartford.
An ambulance transported him to St. Francis Hospital initially to be treated for life-threatening injuries, but officials from the Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner have since told Hartford police that Ramos Jr. died at the hospital on Saturday.
The car that hit him was a 2001 Nissan Maxima. The driver is cooperating with police.
Hartford Police Department's Crime Scene Division is investigating.
