    Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Crash

    The suspect, who has been identified as Marcos Garcia, 42, of Lawrence, was taken into custody by a trooper with use of a taser.

    Massachusetts State Police responded Wednesday night to a carjacking after a motor vehicle crash in Chelmsford.

    The crash happened on Route 495 southbound at exit 34 in Chelmsford around 7:34 p.m.

    A tractor trailer jackknifed as a result of the crash, blocking the right two lanes.

    The operator of one of the vehicles then carjacked a vehicle using a hatchet.

    The stolen vehicle then struck two other vehicles before crashing on Route 495 southbound at Route 2 in Littleton, blocking the right lane.

    The carjacking suspect then attempted to carjack two more vehicles.

    The suspect, who has been identified as Marcos Garcia, 42, of Lawrence, was taken into custody by a trooper with use of a taser.

    Garcia was transported to Emerson Hospital by ambulance.

    No other information was immediately available.
