Light Seabreeze Kicking In, Inland Off to Cool Start

Today (Friday): Warm sun. Highs in the 80s. Overnight Friday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the 60s. Saturday: Fair, chance isolated PM inland shower. Highs in the 80s. Sunday: Warmer, chance evening thunder inland. Highs near 90. (Published Friday, July 26, 2019)

Friday will make three sunny days in a row and we are on a roll of nice weather that should continue through the weekend.

It wasn’t totally dry Thursday, as a few thunderstorms formed in southeastern Canada and slid southeast across New England. There are a few pop-up showers and thunderstorms possible each afternoon. But for most of the time, most of us are not raining.

The sun is shining Friday morning then the fair-weather clouds develop a spot shower or storm. High temperatures will be 85 degrees inland and 80 degrees at the coast with a light sea breeze.

High pressure dominates with a clear sky Friday night and allows temperatures once again to fall into the 50s and low 60s. Saturday is slightly cooler thanks to more of a component of wind off the ocean. It’s not a windy day but it will be a few degrees cooler, especially in eastern New England.

Once again, there will be a chance for an afternoon shower thunderstorm.

The air flow turns a little bit more from the southwest on Sunday. That means temperatures go back up to nearly 90 degrees with humidity building. Dewpoints will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees by Sunday afternoon.

We are hot and humid with spot thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday, with highs 90 to 95 degrees.

A more appreciable front will come in with thunderstorms becoming most likely Wednesday, and the heat will begin to break. Temps will be in the 80s and still humid.

Late in the week, we start to dry out once again with the temperature back down to 80 to 85 degrees. That should last until next weekend.
