    Chicopee Police Raid Yields Heroin, Cocaine, Marijuana

    An early Thursday morning police raid in Chicopee, Massachusetts yielded a wide array of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, methadone pills and marijuana, according to police.

    Following an investigation, Chicopee police obtained a warrant and entered 103 Chapel St. at 4:40 a.m., where they encountered the subject of the warrant, 41-year-old Frank Bruso, in the kitchen area. Upon seeing the officers, Bruso dropped onto his stomach, extending his arms.

    As a result of the warrant, officers searched the residence and located nearly 400 individual bags of heroin, four plastic bags containing brown powder believed to be heroin, about 30 grams of cocaine and numerous methadone pills.

    Officers also found 18 marijuana plants, exceeding the legal limit of six plants, along with three large jars of marijuana.

    More than $2,000 in cash along with digital scales and drug packaging supplies were also allegedly found in the raid.

    Bruso was charged with multiple crimes, including possession with intent to distribute a class A drug, a class B drug, and trafficking cocaine.

    Bruso is due to be arraigned in Chicopee District Court today. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

    Police say the investigation is ongoing, further suspects could be identified, and additional charges brought.
