Fire destroyed a home in Mansfield, but the family who lives there is OK after a the family's 22-year-old son woke them up.
When fire broke out at 163 Highland Road, the man woke up, smelled smoke and alerted the family, officials at the scene said.
Four people were home at the time and got out. The homeowner was too shaken up to speak on camera and said he's lost all of his possessions, but his family is what can never be replaced and he's glad they all made it out safely.
Officials said the fire started in the back of the house and quickly spread.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and the residents will be staying with neighbors until they figure out what comes next.
Mutual aid was called in to cover the fire station in the event of other emergencies in town.
