The first week of April has been cold. The average temperature for Boston is 40.8°, which is 3.1° below normal! If we don’t turn things around, we are on track for a top 10 coldest April. (Thankfully, we do have a lot of time to turn things around.) It’s also been snowy. The numbers for Boston don’t really do it justice, but away from the coast, many towns have received several inches of accumulation over the last 7 days. Officially at Boston Logan Airport there has been 1.3” of snow. Fingers crossed, there is no more snow in the 10 day forecast.

Sunday morning, the Cape and Islands would see some light snow, but the remainder of New England will be dry. Clouds might back all the way to 495, keeping the coast overcast for most of the day. The Sox game looks brisk – mix sun and clouds and temperatures only in the mid 40s.

Monday should be mostly sunny and cool. High temperatures will reach the mid 40s. Tuesday comes our next chance for showers. Those showers will develop along a warm front, which moves through Tuesday night. Temperatures by Wednesday should reach 50°.

The remainder of the 10-day forecast period should be void of any high temperatures in the 40s. Expect most days to hit and exceed 50°. Shower chances will persist, but there will be dry time and sunshine mixed in between.

    Still Chilly Through Monday

    [NECN] Still Chilly Through Monday

Tonight will be mainly clear and cold, with lows near 30. Tomorrow will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 40s. Marathon Monday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 40s.

All eyes turn to Marathon Monday. At this point, the showery weather will continue. Temperatures will be seasonable in the low 50s. We’ve been warmer, we’ve been colder and we’ve been stormier – so this year will be… average.
