City Reviewing Emergency Procedures After Fatal Stabbing Rampage

Officials said Thursday they've commissioned an independent review of the May 10 events in which two people were killed and five were injured

City officials in Taunton, Massachusetts, are ordering a review of their emergency response procedures following a stabbing rampage at a home and shopping mall.

Officials said Thursday they've commissioned an independent review of the May 10 events in which two people were killed and five were injured.

Arthur DaRosa entered a home in Taunton and stabbed two women, whom he didn't know, and ran. One died.

DaRosa drove to the Silver City Galleria Mall and crashed into the front entrance of Macy's. He beat several people inside and stabbed two people in a restaurant, including one who died.

The Taunton Daily Gazette reports there was a delay in responding to the home and emergency personnel scrambled to understand what happened when the 911 system was inundated with calls.

Ryan Strategies Group is conducting the review.
