Clark University to Offer Graduate Certificate in Cannabis Regulation

The online-only program that starts in the fall has three courses on regulatory models, health and public safety concerns, and stakeholder education and enforcement

A Massachusetts university has announced the launch of a certificate program to teach the ins and outs of marijuana policy in different states.

Clark University in Worcester says the online-only program that starts in the fall has three courses on regulatory models, health and public safety concerns, and stakeholder education and enforcement.

Participants will learn about the influence of social, medical, economic and legal viewpoints on cannabis use, monitoring and control, and how to create public policies.

John LaBrie, dean of the School of Professional Studies, tells The Telegram & Gazette because the program focuses on policy, rather than business of cultivation and sales, it does not run afoul of federal laws restricting marijuana.

The certificate program can count toward credit in Clark's master of public administration program.
