NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND

Sunny Veterans Day Before Rain, Snow Moves In

A chilly start to Veterans Day, with lows that dropped into the 20s for many, and it will stay cool all day. Highs reach the 30s and 40s under lots of sunshine this afternoon, it stays breezy. The wind will ease tonight and with clear skies, temperatures will plummet into the 20s and even teens possible over Northern New England.

Monday will be a touch less cool as winds turn out of the west-southwest, but we’ll still be mainly in the 40s. Clouds will slowly increase during the day.

Heavy rain returns on Tuesday, with some wintry mix and snow in the mountains of Northern New England. Rainfall totals will range from half inch to over an inch in many locations while the mountains are expected to receive three to six inches of snow.

Behind that system much cooler air settles in for the middle of the week. Highs will only be in the 30s and 40s.

There’s another shot for rain on Friday, as a system moves in from the Southeast, which could leave us with another inch of rain by then.
