Body of Missing Diver Recovered Near Nahant

Authorities have recovered the body of a diver who was reported missing near Swallow Cave in Nahant, Massachusetts late Saturday morning.

The captain of the commercial diving charter boat Keep-ah reported the 37-year-old male diver missing around 10 a.m. after he did not surface, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Shortly after, the Coast Guard along with the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team and area police and fire departments deployed search and rescue teams.

“Everyone worked efficiently to locate the victim despite very dangerous conditions on the water, and I commend them for their commitment,” said Nahant Fire Chief Michael Feinberg.

Beverly firefighters found the diver shortly before noon and took him to Seaport Landing Marina in Lynn, the Coast Guard said in a written statement.

The circumstances of his death have not yet been released.
