Coast Guard Rescues 3 From Capsized Catamaran in Connecticut

Coast guard crew found 3 people clinging to catamaran near Bartlett Reef

Three people were rescued by a U.S. Coast Guard crew Sunday afternoon from a capsized catamaran near Bartlett Reef, Connecticut.

Coast Guard coordinators received a call from the 18-foot vessel at 4:30 p.m.

After deploying a smallboat crew to the area, two adult males and one adult female wearing life jackets were found clinging to the catamaran.

Officials said all three were rescued safely.

The capsized vessel was towed to Pleasure Beach in New London and the three people were transferred to a nearby dock.
