Coast Guard Suspends Search for Missing Canoeist

The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a man who disappeared while canoeing in Maine's Half Moon Cove.

Officials say a canoe carrying three people capsized in the bay on Sunday afternoon. Two of the people swam to shore and alerted the Coast Guard. The third person, a 23-year-old man identified as Majik Francis of Pleasant Point, Maine, hasn't been seen since.

Teams from Coast Guard Station Eastport and Air Station Cape Cod, as well as the Maine Marine Patrol, searched for him by water and air. Police and fire officials also searched along the shore.

The search was suspended Monday.
