A cold front is draped across northern New England and helping to trigger a few showers and a wintry mix in higher elevations. A weak wave of low pressure will push eastward through the northern two thirds of New England tonight.
The showers hold off in Boston until around midnight, then the rain is gone by daybreak Saturday. We're left with a mix of clouds and sunshine by Saturday afternoon and highs in the 50s thanks to a northerly airflow.
Sunday brings us heavy rain, especially in the afternoon. The scattered showers gradually move in for the morning, with increasing rainfall for the afternoon and evening.
Around one inch of rainfall is expected for everyone through that 24 hour period until Monday morning. This means the Patriots game at Gillette will be soggy, raw, damp and breezy. Game time temperatures stay in the low 50s with a gusty south, southwest wind and waves of rain.
Monday we have another onshore flow and this will bring in a few showers as temperatures stay in the 50s.
Next week will stay rather active with waves of rain throughout. Even Halloween looks iffy at this time with some rain, but not a washout.
