The round of showers and storms that passed Thursday evening was the final in a series of stormy days this week. Now, we have a new air coming in from Canada just in time for our Friday and weekend.
The dewpoint is falling dramatically Friday through the 50s into the 40s north and through the 60s into the 50s south.
The sky has a few fair-weather clouds, with mountain areas facing the possibility of showers later in the day. High temperatures will be well into the 80s in southern New England, close to 80 degrees in Northern New England.
Wind is blowing from the west at about 10 to 20 mph. That is an offshore breeze, so the beaches are as warm as any place.
We still have a series of weak cold fronts that are going to cross New England from Canada, but there’s not much moisture for them to feed on. Because of that. There is some instability in the clouds and a chance of a shower Saturday.
Low temperatures will be in the 50s Friday night and we should make it to the 70s Saturday. A little feel of fall in the mountains, where the showers are it will only be in the 60s.
Sunday probably ends up a little bit brighter, with partly to mostly sunny skies. There is, however, just an outside chance of a shower in the higher elevations. High temperature will be in the 70s to low 80s. Another front comes through on Monday with a mix of sunny clouds and sun, making for a chance of a shower.
U.S. & World
It’s another batch of fairly cool air for the season that comes in Tuesday. It should be interesting next Wednesday as we are on the cooler side of a front with a wave of low pressure passing west to east off to our south.
If it intensifies enough, we could have a minor summer nor’easter. Either way, it looks like we should get some rain at least in Southern New England late Tuesday and early Wednesday. This bears watching.
Then, we have continued flow from Canada and we may get wet again next weekend, when we have our annual Clear the Shelters on Saturday.
