3 Dartmouth Professors Accused of Sexual Misconduct

New Hampshire AG office and state police are investigating allegations

    (Published Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017)

The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office has announced it will be conducting a joint criminal investigation into allegations of "serious" sexual misconduct by three Dartmouth College professors who were placed on leave last week.

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald said the investigation is in response to an inquiry from The Dartmouth newspaper after a college official stated three psychology professors were on paid leave and their access to campus was restricted.

According to MacDonald, the official further stated that the College was engaged in a process "that protects the rights of all parties and promotes the safety of our campus community."

After speaking with officials at Dartmouth College, the attorney general's office said it has learned of allegations of sexual misconduct.

Authorities said Dartmouth College has pledged to work with investigators "to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of their community."

The joint criminal investigation is being handled by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, New Hampshire State Police, the Grafton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hanover Police Department.

Anyone with information about the allegations is urged to New Hampshire State Police at 603-419-8014 or the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office at 603-931-9570.
