One person was hurt Saturday morning in a construction accident in Revere, Massachusetts, authorities confirm.
Around 6:25 a.m., during a scheduled bridge demolition on Route 16, a bridge floor beam shifted, causing an excavator to tip and come to a rest at a 45 degree angle on the ground.
Mayor Dan Rizzo of Revere says that the operator of the vehicle, a Barletta Construction employee, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Crews plan to stabilize the bridge before removing the excavator and continuing with the demolition, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said.
The bridge under construction passes over MBTA Commuter Rail tracks.
Revere Police and Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene.
