Cool and Windy End to the Weekend

Overnight temperatures will be near freezing in some areas

After a mild Saturday with highs in the mid-60s, temperatures today will be cooler as highs are expected to be in the upper 40s.

A disturbance brought morning showers and even a few wet snow flakes over the hills but as it moves east, clouds will give way to more sun over the course of the day as winds turn to the northwest and wind chill values drop into the 30s.

Overnight temperatures will be near freezing towards Cape Ann, downtown Boston and towards New Bedford, that’s why they are under a freeze warning-indicating an end to growing season. Inland locations will be in the 20s.

On Monday, expect similar temperatures though it won’t be as windy. Bright sun early then clouds increase by the afternoon.

Tuesday, a warm front will move in with some showers. Temperatures will climb into the mid-50s, but this warm up will be temporary. A cold front will move through Tuesday night.

We will finish off the week with sunshine and temperatures around 50 degrees, below average for this time of year. Next weekend should start off dry and seasonable with high temperatures back in the mid-50s.

A potent coast storm is possible Sunday into Monday. Heavy rain, high winds and coastal flooding are all possibilities. Stay tuned.
