Asst. DA: Man Arrested in Burned Body Case is Suspect in the Killing

Assistant District Attorney Terry J. McLaughlin says a man who was arrested in the investigation into the discovery of a burned body found after a car fire Wednesday night is a suspect in the killing.

Police arrested 40-year-old Thomas Hogan Thursday and charged him with misleading the investigation, according to Worcester Police. He was arraigned Friday in Worcester County District Court.

Fire crews found the car fully-engulfed in flames on Swan Avenue.

The body found inside the car has been identified as an adult female.

Fire officials say the area surrounded by woods, with few homes, no street lights and a canopy of trees is often used as a dumping ground.

Hogan has been held on $3,000 bail.
