The Coast Guard says a 31-year-old Massachusetts man is in custody after stealing a sailboat and crashing it, causing the boat to catch fire on an island off Hingham.
The incident happened around 3 Wednesday morning. The Coast Guard was called in to assist Massachusetts State Police
Officials say the suspect stole the boat and tried to beach it onto Slate Island in Boston Harbor, where the boat caught fire.
The suspect was found without incident and was taken into custody.
