Cops: Brothers Had Pot-Grow Operation in Laundromat

Police arrested 55-year-old Richard Vieira and 54-year-old Mark Vieira and charged them with cultivating marijuana

Brothers who own an Oxford County self-service laundry have been arrested for allegedly running a marijuana-growing operation out of the facility.

Police say a search of Village Laundry in Porter, Maine, and several other locations this week yielded 11 pounds of processed marijuana and 109 live plants with an estimated street value of $80,000.

Police arrested 55-year-old Richard Vieira and 54-year-old Mark Vieira and charged them with cultivating marijuana.

State Trooper Martin Royle began investigating the brothers on June 3.

It could not be determined of the brothers have lawyers.
