Police in Maine say an intoxicated woman left her 7-year-old son alone in a car for several hours in Gray Saturday.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says the woman, Samantha Lovering, flagged down a deputy on Main Street around 10:30 p.m. and said her car was stolen.
Police found her car with her child sleeping in the back. During investigation, police found the car was not stolen, but was left there.
Lovering was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was given a $60 bail.
The child was picked up at the scene by the father.
