Coyote Attack Prompts Police to Warn Residents

Police in Merrimack, New Hampshire, are warning to residents to keep their pets inside at night after a coyote attacked in the town.

Over recent weeks, there have been several coyotes reported in the area of Wildcat Falls Road. At least one coyote roamed onto a residential property on the street and attacked a family's chickens.

Other sightings have been reported on Rutherford and Bancroft Streets.

Although coyote attacks on humans are rare, police recommend keeping smaller pets inside at night to avoid being attacked by coyotes and other predators. They also suggest placing secure lids on trash cans.
