State police shut down Interstate 395 North in Montville for around 40 minutes after a driver in a pickup hit a Department of Transportation truck, but the road has reopened.
The crash was just past exit 79, or the new exit 6, and all traffic will have to get off the highway at exit 6 and detour on Route 163 to Route 32.
Officials from the state Department of Transportation said two employees were taken to the hospital for observation and they did not sustain serious injuries.

DOT officials said the driver and passenger in the pickup were also taken to the hospital and did not have life-threatening injuries.
