A motorist was transported to a local hospital after her car became submerged in the Quaboag River in Palmer, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Around 7:10 a.m. Friday, troopers from the Charlton Barracks responded to the report off of Interstate 90 westbound. Palmer Fire and EMS rescued the 42-year-old female motorist and transported her to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for cold exposure and minor injuries.
Crews recovered the vehicle from the water and the scene was clear by 10:45 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
