Cutler Remains In The Race, Won't “Cow-Tow” To Party Politics

Independent Eliot Cutler will stay in the Maine gubernatorial race with Gov. Paul LePage, Mike Michaud

Independent candidate for Maine governor says he's a realist about his chances, but that he will remain in the race, and won't "cow-tow" to party politics.

Cutler is up against Republican Governor Paul LePage and Democrat Mike Michaud.

Cutler reiterated on Wednesday his earlier statement that if voters don't believe he can win, they should vote for someone else. He is encouraging voters to vote with their conscience.

Cutler is lagging in polls, which predict a close race between LePage and Michaud.

Cutler is an attorney who served as an adviser on energy policy to President Jimmy Carter.
