A Massachusetts man is accused of strangling his estranged wife.
The Essex County District Attorney's Office confirms that 45-year-old Axel Sherer of Beverly will be arraigned Tuesday in Salem District Court on charges of strangulation, assault and battery of a member and assault to murder a family member.
The victim was taken to Beverly Hospital with life-threatening injuries on Monday evening.
