Danbury Man Accused of Shooting Neighbor with BB Gun

A Danbury man is accused of shooting his neighbor with a BB gun, according to police.

Jonathan Santana, 21, faces charges of breach of peace and reckless endangerment. Police allege that Santana shot his neighbor with a BB gun on Wednesday.

Police said the 66-year-old victim reported he was doing yard work when he felt a sharp sting in his temple. At first he assumed it was an acorn, but realized he was nowhere near the tree.

The victim told police he noticed his neighbor’s bathroom window open, turned to rub his head, and when he turned back the window was closed.

Police approached the neighbor and a search of the house turned up a small hole in a window screen. According to police, Santana admitted he was using a BB gun but claimed he was only shooting at birds and that if he hit anyone, it was an accident.

Santana was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled for arraignment on Nov. 3.
