Dartmouth Detective Pulls Elderly Man from Burning House

No one was injured in the fire

A detective in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, pulled an elderly man from a house fire Saturday afternoon.

According to police, they responded to an entrapment at 17 Johnson Street just after 5:20 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, a detective entered the house, located the elderly man in the lower level of the raised ranch and safely escorted him out of the house.

The fire, which was contained to a single room on the upper level of the house, was extinguished by firefighters, police said.

Four children, who were also inside of the house, safely exited before emergency responders arrived.

No one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
