Day Care Owner's Husband Denies Sexually Assaulting Children

Authorities say an investigation began in September after a detective received a phone call from one of the victims' relatives

The husband of a White River Junction day care owner is charged with sexually abusing two children under the age of 16.

The Valley News reports 47-year-old Richard Dinsmore, of White River Junction, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of repeated aggravated child sexual assault. He was ordered held without bail.

Authorities say an investigation began in September after a detective received a phone call from one of the victims' relatives.

Investigators allege Dinsmore assaulted one child between 1993 and 1999, and a second child between 2008 and 2010.

Police say the charges against Dinsmore aren't connected to the children who attend Linda Dinsmore's day care. A Department for Children and Families spokeswoman says her registration has been temporarily suspended. She didn't respond to a request for comment.
