Teen's Body Recovered From Vermont Pond

An autopsy will be conducted

Rescuers have recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy from Curtis Pond in Vermont's Washington County following a search.

The body of Seamus Beall of East Calais, Vermont, was recovered early Friday. An autopsy will be conducted.

Witnesses said Beall was a good swimmer.

A rescue operation launched at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday following reports of a missing swimmer.

An initial attempt to locate the boy was unsuccessful.

With temperatures reaching the 90s on Thursday, the swimming hole was a popular destination for locals to cool off. Friends of the missing teen called police after the boy did not reappear after entering the water.

An investigation is underway. Anybody with information is asked to contact investigators at the Middlesex Barracks at (802) 229-9191.
