    Whether it's from a burning candle, a cigarette spark, cooking, or holiday lights, a fire can rip through your home almost instantaneously, leaving you only minutes to get out.

    That's why NBC Boston, necn, Telemundo Boston, Boston Fire and First Alert are bringing you the Fire Smart safety campaign.

    Tune in to our half-hour special, "Fire Smart New England" with host Phil Lipof, on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. on NBC Boston. It will also air on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. on necn and on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. on Telemundo Boston.

    The campaign includes hundreds of donated First Alert alarm installations at unprotected homes throughout the community.

    If you own a single- or two-family residence in the city of Boston and need a smoke or carbon monoxide detector and a home check, send an email with your name, street address, phone number and email address to programming@nbcboston.com.

    NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited. Open only to legal Boston residents who are 18 or older and own a single or two-family residence in the city of Boston. Commencing on November 7, 2017 and continuing through November 30, 2017, NBC Boston, Telemundo Boston, and NECN (collectively, “Sponsor”) will partner with First Alert and the Boston Fire Department to install up to five hundred (500) First Alert Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarms (“Alarms”). To be considered, email Programming@NBCBoston.com with your name, address, telephone number and email. Alarms will only be available while supplies last. Alarms redeemable through November 30, 2017. Alarm installation will be determined by the Boston Fire Department and the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign based on need, type of home, and any other criteria deemed appropriate. Boston Fire Department’s decision cannot be appealed. Total Actual Retail Value for each Alarm is $59.99. The collection and use of personal information collected below will be governed by the Sponsor’s privacy policy, located at https://www.nbcuniversal.com/privacy/full-privacy-policy . Personal information will be shared with the Boston Fire Department and the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign .
