Downpours Creating Localized Flooding

Much needed rain will slowly move out late Monday

Much needed rainfall is soaking parts of New England on Monday. By late morning 1-3 inches of rain has already fallen in parts of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire, and Southern Maine.

Those downpours produced areas of localized street flooding.

Periodic downpours will continue to impact the area, especially Southern New England, through mid afternoon. Like what we’ve seen to this point, there will still be areas of localized flooding as those move through. During the late afternoon and evening hours the activity will tend to diminish.

Even though the activity will be very isolated by then, we’ll still have a few spot showers tonight. The odds of that are still highest in Southern New England where it will be most humid.

A cold front will come through on Tuesday, bringing a gradual return to sunshine and less humid conditions with time.

Temperatures for most of this week will be in the 70s and 80s, but a cool down with temperatures in the 60s and 70s arrives for the upcoming weekend.
