Driver Accused in UMass Lowell Hit-and-Run Turns Self in

The driver suspected in a hit-and-run near the campus of UMass Lowell earlier this month has turned himself in.

A 19-year-old woman from Salem, Massachusetts, was hit and injured, but she survived.

It happened on Sept. 5 around 2 a.m. on Aiken Street as the woman crossed the street with several other people.

Twenty-two-year-old Tarrel Luis Romero of Lowell is facing several charges, and will be arraigned at a later date.
