Driver Charged In Crash That Killed 9-Year-Old Boy

State police have arrested a man in connection with a crash that killed a 9-year-old boy on I-95 in Westport in April 2017.

Jesse Zorski, 30, of Freeport, Maine, turned himself in to state police in Bridgeport on Friday.

Zorski was driving a car that slammed into the car ahead of him on April 20, 2017, as traffic came to a quick stop on the northbound side of I-95 in Westport, according to police.

A 9-year-old boy in the other car suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Zorski is charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, following too closely, distracted driving and speeding.

He was released on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 9.
