Portland, Maine, police are searching for the driver of a car that crashed into the garage of a house and then fled, leaving the vehicle wedged in the badly damaged corner of the building.
Randolph Hodsdon tells the Portland Press Herald he was away for the night but his wife was asleep at home when she was awakened about 1 a.m. Wednesday by a crashing sound.
She called 911, thinking someone may have been dead in the car.
When police arrived, they found that the driver had fled. They called in a police dog but didn't find the driver.
Police said Thursday that they are still searching for the driver and would not identify the car's owner.
