Drunken Man Threatens Officers, Causes Disturbance at Girlfriend's Baby Shower in Spencer, Mass.

A drunken man was arrested at his girlfriend’s baby shower Sunday in Spencer, Massachusetts for allegedly threatening police officers who responded to the scene of a disturbance call.

Officers responded to a home at 8:30 p.m. at 73 Maple St., where 31-year-old Steven Ouellette was allegedly seen screaming back and forth with his father. Ouelette was described as being violent when police engaged him, according a Spencer police spokesperson.

The suspect allegedly charged at officers and attempted to fight one before he was pinned against a vehicle. Officers used a Taser to subdue the suspect and place him inside a patrol vehicle.

Once inside the patrol vehicle, Ouellette kicked at his door's window and caused significant damage to the bars inside the cruiser, according to police. The suspect then allegedly told officers he knew where they lived and threatened to kill them.

Ouellette was charged with two counts of assault and battery on an officer, two counts of threatening to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, wanton destruction of property, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

He was held on $2,500 bail Monday by a judge in Western Worcester District Court and was ordered to be alcohol-free. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 23. It is unclear if the suspect has an attorney.
