Elementary School Teacher Placed on Leave Amid Inappropriate Conduct Allegations

A Marlborough, Massachusetts elementary school teacher has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student, according to the superintendent.

Maureen Greulich announced in a statement Monday night that a teacher at Francis J. Kane Elementary School was placed on leave when the school administration was made aware of the allegations.

"Upon learning of these allegations, we took immediate steps to secure the safety and well-being of all students, and the teacher in question was immediately placed on administrative leave with pay."

Greulich said the teacher will remain on leave pending the completion of an investigation into the allegations.

"We take allegations such as these very seriously, and we will continue to fully cooperate with the local police department and other involved agencies in relation to this matter," Greulich said in the statement. "The safety and well-being of our students remains of paramount importance."

Greulich said she was unable to comment on the specifics of the allegations or the criminal investigation.
