The first case of Enterovirus D-68 has been confirmed in the state of Rhode Island.

The first case of Enterovirus D-68 has been confirmed in the state of Rhode Island.

The virus was found in an adult female who has since been treated and released from the hospital.

The Rhode Island Department of Health confirmed the case on Wednesday.

Enterovirus D-68, which affects the respiratory system, has affected people in 28 states including Massachusetts and Connecticut. The virus is most commonly found in children.
