A former girls' basketball coach at a western Massachusetts high school has pleaded not guilty to performing a lewd act in a store at the Holyoke Mall.
Richard Moussette, who resigned as Hampshire Regional High School's coach last weekend, was released Tuesday after pleading not guilty to open and gross lewdness and lewd and lascivious behavior.
The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports that he was told to stay away from the mall and was barred from coaching or attending youth or women's sports.
Prosecutors say a woman told police she spotted the 54-year-old Moussette performing a lewd act in the Target at the mall earlier this month.
His lawyer said the only evidence is the woman's word, and that no surveillance cameras inside the store captured him doing anything wrong.
