Ex-Jail Guard Gets Jail Time for Having Sex With Inmates

Sex between jail personnel and inmates is prohibited by state law

A former guard at a women's jail in Massachusetts has been sentenced to two months behind bars for having sex with inmates.

The Republican newspaper reports that 30-year-old Willie Williamson was also sentenced Wednesday to a year of probation following his conviction last week.

He faced up to five years in prison, but the judge said given his lack of a prior record, he did not think such a harsh sentence was warranted.

Williamson, of Holyoke, was charged with having sex with inmates at the Western Massachusetts Regional Women's Correctional Center in Chicopee between December 2015 and September 2016. He was later fired.

One ex-inmate testified she had sex with Williamson multiple times in exchange for alcohol and cigarettes.

Sex between jail personnel and inmates is prohibited by state law.
