Ex-Massachusetts Man Charged With Killing Neighbor in 1981

A former Massachusetts man is heading to court to face arraignment in connection with the slaying of his neighbor more than three decades ago.

The Norfolk district attorney's office says 57-year-old Keith Butler is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on a single count of murder stemming from the January 1981 death of Francis X. Hussey.

The 41-year-old Hussey was found beaten to death in the kitchen of his Braintree home. Hussey and Butler lived two doors apart and knew each other.

Butler, who currently lives in Palm Harbor, Florida, was twice tried for murder in Hussey's death, but both trials ended in hung juries.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey says Butler was indicted last month based on old evidence that underwent modern forensic testing.

It's unclear if Butler has an attorney.
