A former Vermont plant manager has pleaded guilty to defrauding a Bennington company out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Gregory Harriman entered the plea to mail fraud in federal court on Tuesday. Investigators say the 52-year-old Harriman was involved in phony accounts and invoices between 2007 and 2011 while working at NSK Steering Systems America.
Officials say Harriman and an accomplice created a company that Harriman directed NSK to work with while concealing his involvement. They say he then helped his partner create false quotes and invoices from the company to NSK, getting it to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to the company.
Harriman faces between 24 and 30 months in jail when he's sentenced Nov. 7. He has agreed to pay back nearly $387,000 to NSK.
