Pricey navigational systems are being stolen from big boats in Massachusetts boat yards.

Surveillance video captured two suspects sneaking around two different dealerships in Peabody and Salisbury over the last week.

"They know what they're doing," said Steve Chase, general manager of Bosun's Marine in Peabody.

Chase says two people pried through the gate, slashed through the shrink wrap of almost 20 boats and spent hours on the property in the middle of the night.

When they were gone, they had up to 18 Garmin GPS systems. Each is worth thousands of dollars.

"I don't know where they're going," said Chase. "I don't think we're going to see them going on a local eBay or Craigslist. It seems like someone's got an order in for a bunch of specific equipment and that's what's happening."

At Riverfront Marine Sports in Salisbury, similar suspects are also seen on surveillance video in connection with the same kind of crime the night before the Peabody incident.

Seven GPS screens were stolen after the thieves broke in to the boat yard and cut through plastic wrap.
