Explosion, Gas-Fed Fire Displaces 150 People in Boston

There were no reported injuries from the incident Saturday afternoon

An explosion and fire in a residential building in Mattapan on Saturday displaced 150 people, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Authorities responded to the incident at 110 Livermore Street, a 40-unit residential building, early Saturday afternoon, where they found a gas-fed fire in the laundry room. The fire and explosions caused about $200,000 in damages.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross, Neighborhood Services, and Boston Fire Department's Victim Assistance Unit will help those who were displaced find housing.

The cause of the explosion and fire is under investigation.
