U.S.-led coalition warplanes bombed oil installations and other facilities in territory controlled by Islamic State militants in eastern Syria on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, taking aim for a second consecutive day at a key source of financing that has swelled the extremist group's coffers, activists said. F-15 Eagles are taking part in a training exercise between Manchester and Lebanon in New Hampshire.

The 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts, is holding the exercise from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The planes will conduct low-altitude intercepting and shadowing light civilian aircraft operated by the Civil Air Patrol.

The exercise is conducted to facilitate training for pilots on intercept procedures, ensuring the Massachusetts Air National Guard is prepared to defend the Northeast airspace against airborne threats.
