FBI Announces $5K Reward for Member of Violent Street Gang

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture of a member of a violent street gang in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Diego Barros Pires, also known as "Smurf" or "Do It," was indicted in March along with three other associates. He faces charges of kidnapping and aiding and abetting for his involvement in the kidnapping of one adult and two minors in Brockton and Quincy.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Pires, 24, has black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'8" tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. His last known address was in Brockton.

"Mr. Pires is considered armed and dangerous and we believe he poses a serious danger to the public," said Harold Shaw, special agent in charge of the FBI Boston Division. "At this point in time, we've exhausted all investigative leads in locating him and we're asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact law enforcement."
