Waves of rain continue to move through New England on Thursday, but there will continue to be breaks in between.

All the while, temperatures will soar into the 60s, propelled upward by a southerly wind gusting 20 to 30 mph.

Trick-or-treating will bring more of the same: occasional showers with breaks in between. It will still be in the 60s, but winds will gust from 30 to 40 mph.

A line of downpours and embedded thunderstorms comes through overnight while most people sleep. This is the heaviest rain associated with the storm. Winds in eastern New England will gust to 50-plus, resulting in some isolated outages and wind damage.

Early morning commuters will still have a few spot showers, but it will be warm right out the door, in the 60s.

That will change rapidly as rain departs and sunshine returns, though. Expect temperatures to tumble into the 40s and 50s. During the day, a west wind will continue to gust at 30 to 40 mph.

Much of the weekend looks bright and cool, with highs in the 40s in northern New England and 50s in southern New England.

Sunday may bring a spot shower or a flurry to the mountains of northern New England.

The start of next week will be in the 50s, but by week’s end a shot of cooler air arrives and highs will only be in the 40s for many!
