Colorful pills of the drug MDMA shaped like cartoon characters were seized this week during an arrest in Fall River, Massachusetts, and now police are warning parents to be on the lookout.
The pastel-colored pills of the drug commonly known as ecstasy or molly were in the form of "SpongeBob SquarePants" characters, Fall River police said in a statement Thursday.
"Parents, guardians, and caretakers should be on the lookout for these as school starts and Halloween is fast approaching. Anyone coming in contact with this or similar items should stop handling it and contact police," Det. John Robinson wrote.
The pills were seized during the Tuesday arrest of Fall River resident Luisceito Cruz-Dubois who police say had been wanted on multiple warrants including home invasion, armed and masked robbery, carrying a firearm without a license, assault and battery with a hypodermic needle, and possession of heroin.
When the 22-year-old was taken into custody, police said Cruz-Dubois was in possession of 1.9 grams of suspected crack and 54 MDMA pills. He was charged with 2 counts of possession to distribute a class B substance.
It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney who could speak to the allegations.
