Police: Suspect Sought in Stabbing That Left Man Critically Injured

Authorities in Massachusetts say they're searching a suspect in a stabbing that critically injured a man.

Fall River police say they're looking for 22-year-old Patrick Theriault in connection with the Saturday night stabbing.

Officers responded to the Ship's Cove Apartments on Canal Street for a report of a stabbing around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, where they found a 37-year-old man in critical condition.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where his current condition is serious.

Theriault, who is currently homeless, was identified as a suspect in the stabbing after an investigation by state and local police detectives, and an active warrant was issued for him on the charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing substantial injury.

He's described as being about 5 feet 6 inches with a medium build. He has brown hair and brown eyes, according to police.
