Bus Completely Engulfed in Flames at Cape Cod Parking Lot

A bus was completely destroyed after catching fire in a Cape Cod parking lot early Saturday afternoon.

The Falmouth Fire Department responded to the Steamship Authority parking lot on Palmer Avenue just before noon and found a full sized bus with heavy flames.

Fire officials say the fire rapidly spread to several nearby cars. In total, 14 additional vehicles were damaged by the heavy flames pouring out of the bus.

"The next thing we knew it was 'bang' and it just freaked us out," said eyewitness Sheila Adams.

Falmouth police posted a video on Facebook showing the bus completely engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to knock down the fire in approximately 45 minutes.

Falmouth police said no injuries were reported.

The Steamship Authority will pay for rental cars for anyone affected.

The fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious at this time.
